Shooting update (Yahoo, 08/16/01)
The venue is helipad in Film City, where director Vipul Shah is busy
picturising some crucial scenes on Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar,
Sushmita Sen, Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal for V. R. Pictures's Prod. No. 7.
Gaurang Doshi is producing the film, which is written by Aatish
Kapadia. The film was earlier titled All The Best, but the makers intend
changing its title. They are not sure whether it will liked by the masses,
though they feel that the title is catchy.
According to Vipul Shah, the bungalow in the scenes will be shown as
the farmhouse of Amitabh Bachchan, who is playing the character, of a
bank manager, in the film. Akshay, Arjun and Paresh play blind men, while
Sushmita Sen makes them aware about each and every corner of the bank,
while Amitabh Bachchan looks on. It is like a training session for them
as they are supposed to commit a robbery in the bank.
When we ask Amitabh Bachchan about this character in the film, he says
that it is different from what he ahs attempted so far. "I play a bank
manager. The character has shades of grey and there is a reason why
this man keeps doing wrong things."
But sources tell us that Amitabh is playing an out-an-out negative
character in the film and producer Gaurang Doshi confirms that. "In fact,
when we went to meet Amit-ji for the first time, we told him that his
character is negative," says Doshi.
By the way Gaurang was so impressed with the script that he immediately
agreed to produce the film. Amitabh was the apt choice for this role
and they never visualized anyone else except him for this role. He
recalls the meeting with Amitabh, "We were finding it very difficult to trace
him. So, one day, I landed up at the shooting of Aks and told him that
I am a new producer and I had a negative role for him. He looked at us
and told us to narrate one line, which we did. He liked it immensely
and asked us to come again with the script.
The film is almost complete now and the makers intend completing the
balance portions within a couple of month. Moreover, the makers have also
sold all the territories of the film, except the music rights. "I
showed 50 per cent of the rushes to each distributors and left the decision
to them. They were happy with the results and I got the price I wanted.
However, I don't hesitate in accepting the fact that the film has gone
over-budget," admits Doshi.
The film has crossed the Rs. 20 crore mark and Doshi doesn't blame the
director for it. In fact, he terms it as his passion for making films.
Doshi is Planning to release the film in the beginning of January
Akshay Kumar on All The Best 05/02/01
Wait and see. It'll surprise you. Besides me, there are also Arjun
Rampal and Paresh Rawal. As for Amitji, since I've already worked with him
in Ek Rishta, my comfort level with him is much higher in All The Best.
Interestingly, as in Hera Pheri, there's no heroine opposite me here
either.

A dangerous game's about to begin
"Amitabh sang in his own voice for the movie All the Best.
The films stars Akshay Kumar, Sushmita Sen, Aditi Govitrikar, Arjun Ramphal and
Paresh Rawal. It is first time in a decade that Amitabh has lent his voice in a
film in which he is also acting. The song rendered was the title song called 'A
dangerous game is about to begin'. The song starts with Amitabh's dialogue 'Sach
bahut hi ajeeb garib hota hai, aksar…' Speaking to the press well past the
midnight, Bachchan expressed satisfaction about the recording. He credited his
superlative performance to Vipul and Gaurang, who are making the film, and music
directors Jatin-Lalit. Bachchan plays a negative role in the film. Bachchan kept
his appointment for this recording session even though he had a severe back pain
after a long shoot in the Film City. (indiafm, Feb 7)"

Amitabh sings with Remo Amitabh Bachchan is back at singing.
Though suffering from a backache, the superstar was quite attentive during the

or less like the Kabhie Kabhie Mere Dil mein song picturised on him years ago.

Lalit. Director Vipul Shah and producer Gaurang Doshi were beaming with joy to
have a trump card up their sleeve. The film is called All The Best starring
