I play a doctor who cures Sanjay Dutt from seeing Aishwarya
everywhere. We really can't blame him. We all keep seeing her everywhere.
She's beautiful and a really wonderful person. (Filmfare, March 01)
Sanjay Dutt on Narad Online ( Jan 2001)
You have signed a rather interesting film with Amitabh Bachchan--tell us
about that? Yeah. The film's story is too good. It's a David Dhawan film
which is on the lines of Harold Ramis' Analyze This. I play Robert De Niro's
role of the mobster and Amitji plays the doctor. I fall in love with his
sister Aishwarya. So it will be a really hilarious film and working with
David again is great. I am already doing Jodi No 1 too with David. And
Amitji is out of this world I think. I am in awe of him. The man is so
humble and has taken his success in his stride. Too good. I am very excited
about the film.
Ajay replaces Salman Entertainment Business News (December 00)
Salman Khan, one of the leading men in producer Afzal Khan's film
co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Aishwarya Rai being directed
by David Dhawan — has been replaced by Ajay Devgan. Two shooting schedules
featuring Amitabh, Sanjay and Aishwarya have already been completed. Salman
has not participated in any shoot. According to inside sources, Salman had
asked for the overseas and satellite rights which the producer was not
willing to part with. When contacted, Jhamu Sughand confirmed the news of
Salman's ouster and Ajay's entry.
David Dhawan Indya.com (December 00):
I'm directing the most prestigious film in the industry. Arre..bhai there is no jhagda with anyone.
Amitabh, Sunju, Salman and Aishwarya Rai are starring in it. And it's a
wonderful experience on the sets. No tensions, no airs only masti-mazak and
a lot of fun.
Asiange.com (November 00):
David Dhawan is busy remaking Analyze
This. Released in India last year the foul-mouthed film about a hoodlum
(played by Robert de Niro) who is seeing a shrink (Billy Crystal) had our
censor board foaming at the mouth. In Dhawan's film, Sanjay Dutt plays the
mobsters role while Amitabh Bachchan has been cast as a doctor who treats
the Dutt character when he goes batty after he runs into Aishwarya Rai. Dutt
was very keen on remaking Analyze This ever since he saw it. He first asked
his good friend Mahesh Manjrekar to do something with the black comedy.
However, Manjrekar declined by saying, Audiences in the interiors dont
know the true function of a psychiatrist. They think if a person goes to a
shrink he's a lunatic.Dutt then roped in his other director-friend Dhawan.
The film has been duly Indianised. Amitabh doesnât play a psychiatrist.
He plays a normal doctor, Dhawan said about his film. Dutt had personally
requested Bachchan to play the role. There is general skepticism about the
workability of a predominantly American film like Analyze This in Hindi.
But, Dhawan is pushing on with his untitled venture.
Sanjay Dutt, India Today (November 00):
The Amitabh-Salman film is a remake of Harold Ramis' Analyze This. Yes, yes. I'm playing Robert De Niro's role of the mobster and
Amitji plays the doctor. We've taken care to Indianise the theme. Amitji
plays a doctor, instead of a psychiatrist. I fall in love with his sister,
played by Aishwarya Rai, though he doesn't know about it. It's love at first
sight for my character. I start seeing Aishwarya all over the place, in my
dreams, on television, everywhere. If it's Aishwarya, who can blame you for
getting barmy.
Amitabh Bachan, Filmfare (August 00):
I'm starting a film with David Dhawan featuring Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. It's a light
comedy.
Indya.com (July 00):
Amitabh, Aishwarya bring alive mauhurat for
Dhawan's new film Jhamu Sughand presents director David Dhawan's new
untitled film, being produced by Afzal Khan. The mahurat on July 10 turned
out to be a very quiet affair. Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai gave the
mahurat shot, while the leading men, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan, were
shooting elsewhere. Aishwarya looked picture perfect in a beige outfit while
Amitabh, who plays Aishwarya's brother in the movie (yes, I'm not kidding!),
seemed to be in a jovial mood as he joked with the entire unit. They shot
till evening, as Aishwarya's next dates allotted to them fall months later.
David seemed very thrilled to be working with such a big star-cast, while
Aishwarya is naturally looking forward to this film. With Salman in the
film, its business cum pleasure for her!
Trade Guide (Apr 00):

year...that's all the details that are at present..
Cineind (March 00):
Happy days are here again for Afzal Khan who has
made Mahaanta. His next production starring Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan and
directed by David Dhawan, will be launched this month and will be wrapped up
by the end of the year. Such is the pace with which Afzal works
