Amitabh on Zamaanat (MTV India, 06/17/01)
What is the latest status of S. Ramnathan's Zamanat, which was launched
five years back?
The project was delayed due to various reasons. But we've managed to
get the hurdles out of the way and finally, Zamanat is almost on the
verge of completion.
What's your role in the film?
I play a middle-aged, blind lawyer. I have been teamed opposite
Vijayashanti. But it's Arshad Warsi and Karisma Kapoor who play the romantic
lead in the film.
Zamaanat shot in Chennai
Producer-director S Rammanathan canned some vital scenes for Raam Raj
Kalamandir's Zamaanat from December 22 to 25 at Vauhini Studios and on
locations in Chennai. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan,
Vijaya Shanti, Karisma Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Satyaprakash, Anupam Kher, Tinnu
Anand, Shivaji Satam, Sharat Saxena, Baby Sana and Prakash Raj, a recent addition
to the cast. The film has story by Om Shree, screenplay by Prayag Raaj and MD
Sunder, music by Viju Shah, lyrics by Sameer, action by Vikram Dharma and
cinematography by YN Murali. The film is marching towards the last phase of the

Three songs taped
Music director Viju Shah recorded three songs for Raam Raj
Kalamandir's ZAMAANAT from November 27to Decemeber 1 at Western Outdoorrecording Studio.
Pennned by Sameer, they were rendered by Sonu Nigham, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayanand Jaspider Narula. All these songs will be
picturised in this month in Madras and Hyderabad.
Amitabh Bachchan Shoots For 'Zamaanath'
Amitabh Bachchan is participating in a week-long shooting
schedule of Raam Raj Kalamandir's Zamaanat from Oct. 14 2000 at Vauhini
Studios, Madras, on sets of a court and a hospital. Producer-director S.
Raamanathan is filming pre-climax scenes. Also participating are Vijayashanti,
Karisma Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Satyaprakash, Sharat Saxena and Anupam Kher.
The film has story by Om Shree and screenplay by Prayag Raaj and M.D. Sunder.

Update January 2000
Producer-Director S.Raamanathan will commence a 12 day
schedule of Raam Raj Kalamandir's Zamanath from 16th Januray at Vauhini studios
in Madras. In this schedule, one songs, choreographed by Chinni Prakash and
pre-climax scenes will be picturised. The song was recorded on 7th January by
Viju Shah at western outdoor. Penned by Sameer, it was rendered by Alka
Yagnik & Vinod Rathod. The film stars Amitabh Bacchan, Vijayashanthi,
Karishma Kapoor, Arshad Warsi & Anupam Kher.
Week- Long Shooting Schedule Of 'Zamanath '
Raam Raj Kalamandir's Zamanath , produced and directed by
S.Raamanathan , is being shot in a week-long schedule from Dec.10 1999 at Film
City in Madras and on various locations . Two more songs will be recorded
shortly in Bombay.
Viju Shah Records song for S. Ramanathan's Film
Music director Viju Shah recorded a song for Raam Raj Kalamandir's Prod.No.9 on June 29 and 30 1999 at western Outdoor. Penned by Sameer
and rendered by Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam and Kavita Krishnamoorthy, the
song's orchestra comprised a medley of a new rhythm and instrumental fusion
of a different kind. A shooting schedule is being planned for this month.
